Q : Why would I want to add the protection to my stainless steel appliances? A : With its natural beauty, shine and durability, it's no wonder why stainless steel is the most popular surface for household appliances. Although it is extremely resistant to corrosion, it is not completely impervious to it. Smudges, soil and fingerprints can take away from the beauty of your stainless steel, but they are easily resolved with proper maintenance and care. When you purchased your stainless steel appliances you thought the maintenance and upkeep were minimal.... Surprise!

To maintain the surface WITHOUT our protection, this is what you'll have to do.... Use a formulated special cleaner for stainless steel, after applying the cleaner & polish, wipe in the direction of the natural metal grain to clean microscopic grooves where dust and dirt get trapped. Avoid abrasive cleaners, powders, scouring pads and brushes that may scratch and damage stainless steel. Avoid using glass cleaners, all purpose cleaners and harsh chemicals like chlorine or bleach because they may leave streaks and damage or discolor the outer protective layer of the surface. Use a paper towel or soft micro fiber cloth to clean stainless steel. Don't leave ordinary steel in contact with stainless steel under damp conditions because an adverse reaction between the metals may cause discoloration. After cleaning, buff with a soft, clean, dry cloth to remove any residue that may be left on the surface. Make sure to completely dry the surface after cleaning to prevent spotting and streaking.
Q : Do you cover the stainless steel handles and the appliances? A : Usually we do not. There are limitations on the ability to conform to rounded and curves handles. Should the handles on a particular appliance be covered we would cover the frontal surface only.
Q : Why would I want to add the protection to my granite counter tops? A : Granite is a super tough stone that is formed from volcanic magma. Granite has earned a reputation as a great building stone. It ranges in color, but is known for how beautiful it is, expecially as a countertop. Granite requires regular maintenance. Besides just cleaning your countertops, you'll need to make sure the granite is sealed periodically. Stains on granite can be difficult to remove, but not impossible. Granite countertops can also crack.

To maintain the surface WITHOUT our protection, this is what you'll have to do.... To keep granite countertops clean, use a micro fiber cloth to dust off the surface. Wipe down the granite countertop daily and as needed using water. Once a week wipe down with a damp cloth and a stone cleaner formulated with a neutral pH. Never use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. They can scratch, pit, and etch the surface of the stone. For oily stains, try a poultice made of a cup of flour or baking soda and five (5) tablespoons of dish soap. Add water to make it the consistency of sour cream or yogurt. Place the solution directly on the stain and cover with plastic wrap overnight, before washing away the poultice. Seasonal Maintenance of Granite Countertops: Re-seal the countertop when water splashed on the surface no longer beads up. If there are stains or damage, contact a stone-care professional for repair.

For added protection apply an application of Clear Shield Surface Protection™ Appliance Sealant at least every two (2) months. Clear Shield Surface Protection™ Appliance Sealant is UV activated and forms a superior bond for ultimate protection.

A : Marble is a beautiful and durable stone surfaces that is often chosen as a countertop material, a lot of homeowners use marble in only select areas of the kitchen, like bars, islands, and baking areas. Marble is softer and more pourous than granite. This makes it susceptible to scratches, pitting, cracks, stains, and even dulling of the shine. It may take a little more maintenance and upkeep to keep your marble looking nice.

For wet cleaning, use a damp cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner designed for stone. Do not use regular cleaning products that can etch the stone surface over time. Never use abrasive cleaners that will damage and dull the finish. Just like acidic cleaners, acidic "stuff" in general is bad for your marble. This includes wine, orange juice, tomatoes, soft drinks and even our trusty friend vinegar will damage marble so get any spills up right away by blotting them - wiping or rubbing can make the problem worse. This condition does affect the performance of the shield. Should this be an issue we can install Clear Shield Surface Protection™ Film on horizontal surface outside those areas.
